If you have disabled the Mouse Shadow in Windows 2000 .Net and it's still there during logon, you can get rid of it by going to the Registry and looking for this string:
HKEY_USERS\Default\Control Panel\Desktop
Right-click on the 'UserPreferenceMask' value and select 'Modify'. In the four sets of numbers after the '000', place the mouse cursor behind the first two numbers and hit the backspace key once and type in '30'. Do the same in the second set of numbers and enter in '10'. The number should now read '30 10 00 80'. Close the Registry and the Mouse Shadow should be gone.
